What a difference a few month can make! It seems like another life-time, but less than 12 weeks ago, Pacoy was racking up debts and dodging small-time hoods. After a few jobs working off some debt to The Bey, he fell in with a group of Edgerunners on a somewhat semi-permanent basis. It was a motley band, but surprisingly efficient: In a matter of days they managed to overtake a tower full of 2nd rate gangers, thwart both a plot to install the stolen ghost AI of a crazy fascist Brit general into the mainframe of corporate HQ and a suit from re-stealing it, an inadvertently aid a group of terrorists – it may not be the perfect foundation for a long term partnership, but it seemed like a smart idea to not walk away after an experience like that.
Pacoy had a few minor run ins with the Sumantings, nothing major, but close calls traveling between his apartment and his shop in the Desiderium Cartel’s HQ. Besides the tools and the bots, Pacoy managed to spread a bit of cash on club life and small-time gambling – nothing major for now, just enough to spend enough on drinks and expensive food as he won in poker. Despite his reluctance to actively pilot a drone instead of just activating a bot, Pacoy started toying around with drones. At first, it was just to help Hugh build up and maintain his fleet, but soon Pacoy got the hang of piloting them himself – and while he’s no ace, the cost he saves on sparing a brain in a drone just might be worth it – but Set-and-Forget automated robots will always be his first love!
