Garrion is dead – vaporised in the hospital explosion. Out of all the misfits in this crazed collection of miscreants, Garrion was the closest to Pacoy – he helped set up the electrical work in the workshop, he was the one who paired with Pacoy the most often on “Ground Team” split duty. Now he was gone. Benjamin was a front, the “kidnapped sister” angle was a lie, Garrion got killed on a case that the crew wasn’t even being paid for, and Pacoy was pissed. That mabaho tanga Trepanier, the one who was stalking Garrion died in the same explosion, Benjamin was killed a few hours before, there wasn’t anyone immediately left to blame – Pacoy has a burning need to find out who set this whole thing up and why, and what is there connection to Umbra?

Short on leads, but long on pent up energy, Pacoy spends the next sleepless night throwing himself into new projects at the workshop: not only did the sinumpa taksils get enough of a drop on them to kill both Garrion and the teams only lead, but they jammed his bots! Pacoy burned his fury working himself until exhaustion finally took him and he falls asleep at Candy’s fortress for the first time. By the time he wakes and cleans himself off, Pacoy is seeing things in a new light. He is focused and has a goal. It’s time to meet with the team and get shit done.
